Additional Storey Ebensfeld

As part of the WIN project in Ebensfeld, the company RAAB Bau is relying on our TRIQBRIQ system for the timber additional storey on an existing building. An exciting setup in which our solid wood construction system proves its flexibility – while RAAB Bau gains entirely new experience.

The project: converting and extending a former staff building on the company’s own site. While new office space is being created on the ground floor, the building is being extended by a full additional storey for staff apartments. This is exactly where TRIQBRIQ comes in: solid wood instead of solid masonry, a plug-in system instead of bricks, beetle-kill timber instead of concrete.

For RAAB Bau, this is its first construction site with TRIQBRIQ – and therefore an important step towards more circular, resource-efficient building.

Why this project stands out:

• TRIQBRIQ on existing buildings: Not a standardised new build, but individual planning with interfaces to the existing structure, staircase, old ceiling heights, and existing foundations.
• First application for RAAB Bau: During the timber additional storey, the team is familiarising itself with handling, tolerances, and assembly principles. Further projects such as Kleiner Wohnen @ Land are in the planning stage.
• Combination of different systems: Our timber building blocks are complemented by other ecological building materials being tested as part of WIN.

The timber additional storey is not a showroom, but a real construction project with real requirements and real time pressure. That’s exactly what makes it so valuable: for RAAB Bau as an entry point into circular timber masonry construction. For us as a partner who can now see the system being tested in existing-building situations too – with all their challenges and opportunities.
