In Bad Dürkheim, this project combines the renovation of an existing building with an extension built using solid wood construction. The ground floor was built by the owners themselves: working together, the couple assembled 1,200 BRIQs into load-bearing walls in just two days.

The house is designed for the couple’s future family and was planned from the outset to adapt to changing living situations. This is made possible by connecting the BRIQs with beech wood dowels: the walls can later be disassembled and rearranged without conventional demolition. This keeps the building flexible as its occupants’ needs change over the years.

The project shows how the TRIQBRIQ system can be assembled through self-build, even without extensive construction experience. At the same time, it illustrates how renovation and extension of existing buildings can be combined using a modular solid wood system.
