Early summer has been eventful for us: in Tübingen, our new fully automated production line has started up, and in parallel we’ve made it much easier to invest in TRIQBRIQ with a new investment platform. Meanwhile, our construction sites show just how differently our system can be used – from a self-build project in the Palatinate, to an extension in the middle of Dresden, to heat protection in Langenau. And on the team, we welcome Joseph Unser as our new product manager.
FULL STEAM AHEAD: OUR NEW PRODUCTION LINE IS RUNNING!
On June 24, the time had finally come: at the TRIQBRIQ main plant in Tübingen, we put our new, fully automated production line into operation – and celebrated with around 300 guests from politics, business, finance, and media. Among those present were Theresa Schopper, Minister for Regional Development and Housing, and Tübingen’s Mayor Boris Palmer. Thanks to everyone who joined us and raised a glass with us!
The plant is impressive: built by our partner VKE GmbH, it is 25 meters long, has four production cells and five KUKA robots – and reaches up to 100,000 BRIQs per year at full capacity. It’s autonomous enough to run for an hour at a stretch without anyone constantly attending it.
But our new plant is more to us than just faster production – it’s our gateway to the future. Because we’re rolling out this technology both nationally and internationally. In Germany, this means: partner companies install the plant on their own premises and produce BRIQs on our behalf. We reliably take delivery of the timber blocks and handle sales and project business. Here, we’re mainly targeting sawmill owners and forest owners. Internationally, we go one step further – there, independent licensees produce and distribute the BRIQs entirely under their own responsibility.
The first steps have already been taken: TRIQBRIQ Austria has been founded and has already ordered equipment. In Sweden, Portugal, Switzerland and the USA, company formations and partner discussions are already underway. So a lot is happening, and we’ll definitely keep you posted! CONSTRUCTION SITE INSIGHTS
BAD DÜRKHEIM: GROUND FLOOR SELF-BUILT IN TWO DAYS
In Bad Dürkheim, it’s not a new building going up, but an existing building being renovated and extended. The clients built the ground floor themselves: 600 BRIQs, two people, two days.
They built it for the family they hope to have one day – and from the start, with the idea that the house should grow along with them. This is made possible by the wooden dowel connection of our TRIQBRIQ system: walls can be taken apart and rebuilt in a new form. That’s admittedly a new construction job in itself, but most of the material is already on hand and doesn’t need to be bought again at extra cost. For now, though, our customers are simply happy they could build so quickly within the existing structure, and are already looking forward to moving in soon.
DRESDEN: ROOFTOP EXTENSION IN THE CITY CENTER
In the middle of Dresden’s city center, a rooftop extension on a rear building is being built under tight spatial conditions. Our micro-modular system is perfectly suited for exactly such cases: short distances on site, a small, mobile crane, and an installation process that works even where other construction methods reach their limits.
We were especially pleased by the visit of Kassem Taher Saleh, Member of the German Bundestag, who came to see the project on site together with an MDR camera team. The Sächsische Zeitung also covered the construction site. It quickly became clear what potential lies in conversion and infill development: instead of sealing new areas, additional living space is created here on existing building substance.

LANGENAU: STAYING COOL WITHOUT AIR CONDITIONING
Germany is in the middle of an exceptional heat wave this summer: since June 16, temperatures above 30 degrees have been recorded, with some readings climbing above 40 degrees – possibly a new all-time record. According to a study by World Weather Attribution, such a scenario would have been almost unimaginable 50 years ago: tropical nights above 25 degrees are around 100 times more likely today than in 2003, and by 2100 the number of heat days in Germany could triple.
What this means for buildings is shown by a house in Langenau: construction started in April 2025, move-in on January 6, 2026, partly built through self-help with support from architect Karin Müller and Zimmerei Bunz. Deliberately planned for age-appropriate living – no basement, no attic, no stairs, instead a flat roof, 150 square meters, and fully barrier-free throughout.
The current heat summer shows what the interplay of clay plaster, wood-fiber insulation, TRIQBRIQ, and cork façade can achieve: 45 degrees on the roof, but only 23 degrees inside – without any air conditioning at all. The timber blocks store heat and release it with a delay, while the cork plaster on the façade and the wood-fiber insulation keep the heat from getting in in the first place. Cork is the bark of the cork oak and has protected the tree from sun and forest fires for centuries – in this house, it performs the same task for the residents. Ventilate in the morning, close the shutters, done: no technical trick, just physics. And on top of it all, the house looks truly beautiful.

JOSEPH UNSER
With deep hands-on craftsmanship and entrepreneurial vision, Joseph Unser is strengthening our team as new product manager. As a master carpenter and certified business economist (HwO), he brings solid experience in timber construction, solid construction, and civil engineering – a combination that’s ideally suited to TRIQBRIQ.
In his role as product manager, he’s responsible for the ongoing development of our system – with the eye of a practitioner who thinks about projects holistically: from technical planning to coordinating execution to economic management. We’re delighted that his cross-trade understanding and passion for timber construction enrich our team!
