Newsletter August & September
After a relaxing summer, we are starting the second half of 2026 with fresh energy. This issue of our newsletter covers new partnerships, practical planning aids and our conversations at EXPO REAL.
CONSTRUCTION SITE INSIGHT RAAB
News from the construction site in Redwitz an der Rodach: the shells of the six TRIQBRIQ buildings have been completed. The project uses WS25 BRIQs, straw insulation boards and a ventilated timber façade. In total, almost 8,400 BRIQs are being installed, storing around 150 t CO₂e.
Alongside TRIQBRIQ, the project also uses bricks, hempcrete blocks and unfired clay bricks. Coburg University of Applied Sciences is providing scientific support and is investigating how the building materials differ in ecological impact and practical suitability under real conditions. The project was initiated and is being carried out by RAAB Baugesellschaft.
EXPO REAL 2026
Overview
Intensive days at EXPO REAL with three highlights are behind us. The focus was on conversations with partners, project developers and industry colleagues – including many players from the retail sector, GLS Bank, the Koalition für Holzbau, Madaster Germany, the KVL Group and the City of Frankfurt.
At the Verbände Plus stand, we met Theresa Schopper, Minister for Regional Development and Housing of the State of Baden-Württemberg. It was a very welcome reunion for us, as Minister Schopper had already been our guest on 24 June at the official opening of our new production facility.
One thing became particularly clear at the fair: many of the issues that are decisive for the building transition – material cycles, planning, financing and implementation – become concrete when the right partners sit down at the same table. We are therefore taking the conversations from Munich with us as starting points for the coming weeks.
Highlight 1: WIESN NETWORKING: THE PRELUDE TO EXPO REAL
Together with the Green Circle Club by Tososto, we hosted a Wiesn networking event on the Sunday before EXPO REAL. The open exchange focused on shared paths towards the building transition, new ideas and the question of how lasting collaboration can emerge. We particularly enjoyed our conversations with our partners Sun Jensch of the Koalition für Holzbau, Niklot von Bülow of Züblin, Roland Bechmann of Werner Sobek and Michael Madlener of TRIBAU. Thank you to everyone who enriched this day with their perspectives.
Highlight 2: HUBITATION FINALS: BOHEI QUARTER IN HEILBRONN
Together with the initiative Wohnen.2050 e.V. and Stadtsiedlung Heilbronn, we presented our idea for the circular realisation of the BoHei quarter in Heilbronn at the hubitation finals. The pitch centred on the question of how a quarter can be planned and built from the outset so that materials remain in the cycle while the construction method also works for residential building.
We developed the concept for the final together with Dr Julia Wedel, Lea Schmitt and Uwe Haider. Our Head of Public Relations, Lewin Fricke, and the Managing Director of Stadtsiedlung Heilbronn, Dominik Buchta, then presented the shared vision on stage. The prize, however, went to TwinCloud and the Nassauische Heimstätte | Wohnstadt group. Our warmest congratulations.
For us, things nevertheless continue right away: together with Stadtsiedlung Heilbronn, we intend to launch a feasibility study shortly – from our shared perspective, the first important step for the project.
Highlight 3: DIGITALWERK FESTIVAL
Another highlight of the fair was the Digitalwerk Festival, organised by Michél-Philipp Maruhn and Anna Berger. As a partner of the event, we provided the stage made of BRIQs – a visible starting point for many conversations about materials, cycles and implementation on the construction site. There we met many partners again and talked with Prof. Dr. Michael Braungart, co-founder of the Cradle to Cradle principle, and with former Federal Minister of Finance Peer Steinbrück. It was also a special reunion, as Prof. Braungart presented our board member Max Wörner with the German Sustainability Award in 2025.
IMMOBILIEN-DIALOG TÜBINGEN AND REUTLINGEN
On 20 and 21 October, the Immobilien-Dialog Tübingen & Reutlingen brings together stakeholders from municipalities, business and the real estate industry. The focus is on the opportunities and challenges of a region where research, technology, industry and a growing population come together. To open the event on 20 October, we are opening the doors of our main plant in Tübingen and offering insights into our production line.
Anyone interested in housing development, building in the region and new perspectives for the real estate industry is warmly invited. We look forward to the exchange and to welcoming you at our main plant in Tübingen.
Heuer Dialog has also published an article about TRIQBRIQ and our new production facility.
SYSTEM PARTNERS FROM OUR NETWORK
Good projects emerge when different disciplines work together. Our system partner network brings together planners, specialist engineers, construction companies and timber construction firms who apply TRIQBRIQ in practice. Would you like to join the network or find a suitable partner for a project? Find out more here.
FREY ZIMMEREI
Frey Zimmerei from Heubach is a family-run timber construction company that has existed since 1912. Led by Norbert Frey, and with master carpenter Maximilian Frey representing the fourth generation, the 17-strong team realises projects ranging from canopies to timber houses and from storey extensions to commercial buildings. As a TRIQBRIQ system partner, the company puts the system into practice in Baden-Württemberg and Bavaria.
GEYER HOLZBAU UND PARKETT
Since 1930, Geyer Holzbau und Parkett has stood for timber construction and carpentry, building in existing structures, and parquet and plank flooring. Owner Hans Geyer and his team support projects from planning to handover, including extensions, conversions, storey extensions, new builds and energy-efficient refurbishments. Together, we implement TRIQBRIQ projects in Baden-Württemberg and Bavaria.
ZIMMEREI SOULIER
Zimmerei Soulier from Balingen-Ostdorf has been working with glue-free solid timber systems for more than 20 years. The owner-managed master carpentry business was founded in 1996 by Horst Soulier and supports residential, commercial and institutional buildings from planning to execution. Its many years of experience in solid timber construction and in refurbishing existing buildings make it a particularly good fit for our circular system.
NEW APPLICATION GUIDE FOR WS25
Our new application guide brings together planning principles, connection details, wall build-ups and system solutions for the WS25 wall system. It supports planning and execution in a wide range of building types – from single-family houses, schools and commercial buildings to industrial buildings and storey extensions. The download portal also provides CAD and BIM models, tender texts, approvals and certificates.
CONSULTATION HOURS WITH JOSEPH
On the first Friday of every month, our product manager Joseph offers a free 90-minute online consultation for specific building projects. The focus is on questions about feasibility, planning, connections, implementation and costs. Registration is via the consulting services page on the TRIQBRIQ website.
TRIQBRIQ in the media
The steady progress of the “Kleiner Wohnen@Land” construction site has received a lot of attention in the Franconian local press in recent weeks. We were also featured in two exciting podcasts with our storey extension in Dresden and the opening of our production facility.
